Life in a Nutshell

So I'd like to be a blogger but I'm not sure I can do it.

I don't particularly enjoy reading back my writing and I don't think that it possesses the ebb and flow of a successful blogger.

But eh, I'll give it a shot and return to my poor abandoned blog.


I started my first semester at Montgomery College this past week and it's been great. I can't imagine myself anywhere but MoCo and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
I am in 4 great classes: Intro to Education, Intro to Psych, English 102, and U.S. History 1865-Present.

I'm also eagerly awaiting the GO signal from my mom about an apartment for my wonderful boyfriend Carlos and me.

This is not going to be a long blog, just a short intro to life.  I intend to continue with the blogging though so feel free to follow along!

Cinderstein!

So this past weekend was "show weekend" for the play at my school.

We did the play Cinderstein which is a wacky, crazy comedy about a high school student who writes and produces his own play yet as rehearsals happen things start to get a little... twisted.

I was the proud and boastful Stepsister 4! (Yes there were 5!)

Here are some of the highlights!

I had such a blast doing this show! I love all the cast, crew, and dancers of Cinderstein!

Please help save lives

IMAlive is the first ever 24/7 online suicide hotline. It is a new service kicking off that will use an instant messaging service to provide a safe place for those on the verge of suicide.

I would like to become a volunteer for the website, committing 4 hours a week for 1 year to act as a volunteer on the recieving end of the crisis calls.

My first task as a volunteer is to recieve $250 in donations that will cover my training.

NONE of this money goes directly to me, only to IMAlive.

Too Much

School takes too much time. I have no more time to crochet! Plus I've kinda hit a rock and a hard place with crocheting, I can't find anymore good, basic videos that I can learn from so if anyone has any suggestions they would be GREATLY appreciated!

This is one of the craziest times of the year, my AP classes are really kicking in, it's the middle of rehearsal season for my school's fall play, Show choir auditions are tomorrow and I'm captain, PLUS smaller things such as honor society, school ambassadors, our morning video broadcast anchor AND I have a wonderful Internship with YFU.
This is what I keep telling myself, so to all of you out there who need inspiration, whisper this to yourself during the dark moments.

More Crocheting!

I made my first amigurimi! It's quite small and simple but I still think it would be considered an amigurumi! I also made a crocheted ball just for practice although it could have turned out a bit more circular.

I made the cherry by following a Youtube video and I made the ball free-hand to test if I had actually learned what the Youtube video taught me!

Any feedback, tips, advice, etc. is greatly appreciated!

First Crochet!

Finally I started to learn how to crochet, off of Youtube. =]

It's called a Granny Square and the holes are supposed to be there, of course it's supposed to be an actual square but it didn't quite turn out that way.

I'm quite proud of it for my first time though!

Hopefully I can work up to amigurimi sometime!
